Overview
1. Mission Statement
The Place of Wellness and Health Foundation (PWHF) is a registered non-profit organization committed to improving the health and well-being of underserved communities across Nigeria. Our mission is to raise awareness, empower minds, and promote behavioural change through public health education, with a special focus on mental health awareness, substance abuse prevention, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles among women and youth.
2. Organizational Profile
2.1. Background
PWHF was born out of the urgent need to address the growing crisis of mental health neglect, drug dependency, and unhealthy living habits particularly in low-income and underserved communities. We recognized that while policies exist, a huge gap remains in awareness, access to preventive health education, and grassroots interventions.
Through direct community engagement, advocacy, and health literacy programs, PWHF creates platforms for women and youth to gain knowledge, skills, and support systems that foster healthier lives and more resilient communities.
2.2. Legal Status
Registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), PWHF operates as a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-partisan organization with legal standing to carry out advocacy, outreach, training, and development activities nationwide.
